The secretary school education department, Farooq Shah on Monday said that all those teachers who failed to produce above 50 percent results in class 8 this year will be shifted from their present place of postings to far off places like Machil and Karnah.

“They will be shifted from their present postings and sent to far off places like Machil, Keran, and Karnah,” he said while chairing a review meeting of the directorate of school education.

Shah asked the chief education officers to identify the “poorly performing” teachers and said that the teachers having zero percent results will be suspended, charge-sheeted, and attached to chief education officer, Kupwara.

“The report should be completed this week,” he said.

Besides, the secretary education directed all the headmasters, principals, zonal and district officers to wear tie on duty.

“You should look like teachers and zonal-level officers,” he said while chairing a review meeting in the directorate of school education Kashmir. The meeting was attended by director school education Kashmir; principal, state institute of education Kashmir, project director, sarva shiksha abhiyan (SSA) and rashtriya madhyamik shiksha abhiyan (RMSA), apart from all chief education officers and DIET principals.

Shah also stated that there should be no interference of trade union leaders in the transfer of teachers at zonal, district or divisional levels.

“Rationalisation of teachers should start at zonal level and surplus staff, if any, should be adjusted in adjacent zones as per the requirement in schools. I have also asked the teachers’ forum people that they should not interfere in transfers,” he said.
