SRINAGAR: A teenage girl attempted suicide by jumping into the River Jhelum in the Kakapora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday. She was, however, rescued.

Quoting sources, Kashmir Scroll reported that a 16-year-old girl tried to end her life by jumping into the River Jhelum in Kakapora.

They stated that police, along with locals, rushed to the scene and rescued her.

Furthermore, they mentioned that the girl was taken to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Kakapora for treatment, where her condition is reported to be stable.

Meanwhile, the police have taken cognizance of the incident.
