SRINAGAR: The body of a teenage girl who jumped into the River Jhelum in the Boniyar area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district was retrieved on Wednesday afternoon following intense search operations.
An official said the girl (name withheld) had jumped into the river reservoir at Peerniya, Boniyar, on Tuesday afternoon, prompting a joint rescue operation by the Jammu and Kashmir Police and the SDRF.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further proceedings. (JKNS)
