Almost ten days after the EDI encounter ended, JK police have claimed to establish an identity of one of the three slain militants, reports said.

All the three militants—termed as Lashkar men by forces—were killed in a 48-hr long EDI siege that began on Saturday afternoon (Feb 20) after the trio stormed in EDI after attacking a paramilitary bus on Highway. In an ensued gun-battle, army’s three elite commanders were killed.

Police said that one among the slain trio was Abdul Manan, s/o Zia Ur Rehman of Wazirabad Punjab, reports said. “The identity of other two is still being ascertained.”
