SRINAGAR: A Territorial Army (TA) soldier was injured in a militant attack on Wednesday evening in the Sofigund Aripal area of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
A police officer said that militants opened fire on the soldier outside his residence in Sofigund Aripal. The soldier, identified as Delhair Mushtaq, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi of Sofigund Khanagund, sustained a leg injury and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
A senior police official stated that the soldier was on leave at the time of the attack. “His condition is stable,” the official said.
Following the incident, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to apprehend the attackers. (KNO)
