SRINAGAR: Indian ordinary passport holders travelling to Thailand for tourism will be allowed to enter the country without a visa for stays of up to 30 days from September 15, 2026, according to an advisory issued for Indian nationals.
As notified by the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Thailand, the visa exemption will apply to Indian ordinary passport holders entering Thailand for tourism purposes.
Travellers availing themselves of the facility have been advised to carry a passport with at least six months’ validity from the date of arrival, confirmed return tickets, hotel bookings and clear travel plans or itineraries.
Indian tourists must also complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) within 72 hours before arrival. The card can be submitted through the official Thailand Immigration portal.
Travellers have further been advised to carry at least THB 20,000 per passenger in cash while using the visa exemption facility.
The advisory said all required documents should be kept readily available before approaching the immigration counter. In the case of group travel, each member must carry the required documents individually.
Indian nationals travelling for purposes other than tourism have been advised to obtain the appropriate visa according to the purpose of their visit. Those who have received a job offer have specifically been advised not to use the visa exemption facility.
Passengers transiting through Thailand have also been advised to carry all relevant documents for their final destination, including an appropriate visa wherever required.
