Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Thursday slammed Jammu and Kashmir government for its ‘duplicity’, saying in Kashmir bullets and pellets have become an order of the day while in Jammu pro-rapist rallies are in the free run.

Taking to social networking site Twitter Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said  “Goons of #JammuBar &Political opportunists given a free run to enforce the despicable pro-rapist bandh in #Jammu while in #Kashmir bullets, pellets, curfews, arrests, gags, closing of Edu.Institutions order of the day “to maintain law&order”&“prevent untoward incidents”!What duplicity!” (sic).

A strike was called by Jammu Bar Association to protest against the probe by Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Crime Branch into the rape-and-murder of an eight-year-old Asifa Bano in Kathua district. Asifa was repeatedly gang raped by eight men at a temple in Kathua district and was subsequently murdered.

In Kashmir, earlier, on Wednesday, four civilians were killed, while over 50 sustained injuries during the clashes near encounter site in Khudwani village of Kulgam district.
