Ruckus in assembly over the remarks of CM Mehbooba Mufti ver Article 370.

The opposition leader and working president of National Conference Omar Abdullah said what has happened in the assembly on Tuesday is unprecedented. “It speak volumes about the state of health in the ruling alliance which could lead to a crisis.”

While talking to Kashmir Life, Omar said, “I was talking to my senior colleagues about any precedence. They said that no speaker can expunge the statement of the leader of the house. They said it has never happened,” Omar said. “If he can expunge the speech of the leader of the House that means he lacks confidence in her leadership.”

Later talking in the assembly, Omar said the leader of house must explain her position and let the House know her stand on the critical issue.

Speaker Kavinder Gupta tried to pacify the House by saying that he will see the records and will only expunge the word “anti national” but the NC and Congress members jumped into the well of the House seeking explanation from the Chief Minister.

While reacting to the Chief Minister’s Monday speech in which she said speaking against Article 370 is anti national, Kavinder Gupta Tuesday morning expounged the word “anti national”. This triggered series of adjournments, so far.

Opposition was shouting slogans, “RSS Hai, HAi” till the last reports came in.
