SRINAGAR:  There is a famous Kashmiri saying: Peereh Tateah Karzeam Yaeari, Yeti Paneh Aeseakh Durbudar. In English, it means, ‘my Peer, help me (at a junction) where you yourself will be wandering’.

It was almost the same situation in Qazigund, where disciples of a female Peer, left her unconscious and looted her belongings.

Reports by a local news gatherer, KNO said that a female faith healer Raasiya Banoo lived in the Badragund area of Qazigund. The wife of Manzoor Ahmad Najar, the God-fearing lady, was a faith healer as well.

On Monday morning, her disciples used a chemical spray which left her unconscious. They took her valuables including her jewellery. They also took some cash as well.

Police have sent a team and investigations have started.

The report came within days after a thief attempted slicing away her finger because she had her golden ring on it. In Agroo village, a lady was busy working in her fields when somebody took her by surprise, left her unconscious and attempted cutting her middle finger because of the gold. He also attempts to slice away her ear lobe because of the jewellery.

The lady was identified as Fancy Jan, wife of Mohammad Younus Rather of Zaipora Agroo in Kulgam.
