SRINAGAR

The third phase polling in 16 segments of Kashmir division Tuesday ended with 58 per cent poll percentage. This phase recorded low turnout compared to two earlier phases.

Chrar-e-Sharief, believed to be the bastion of ruling National Conference  in central Kashmir’s  Budgam district recorded highest polling of 82.14 per cent while north Kashmir’s Sopore, stronghold and and native place of Syed Ali Gellani  recorded lowest 30 per cent. Though 30 per cent is improved than the earlier elections from the same restive constituency.

While the five assembly segments of Budgam district and seven assembly segments of Baramulla respectively recorded 73 per cent polling each; four segments of Pulwama district recorded 42.45 per cent polling.

Segment wise details of polling  records is as follows:

Chadoora (65), Budgam (70), Beerwah (74.14), Khansahab (73), Chrar-e-Sharief (82.14), Tral (37.68), Pampore (47.48), Pulwama (38.31), Rajpora (47.06), Uri (79), Baramulla (45), Sopore (30), Rafiabad (73), Sangrama (56.15), Pattan (60) and Gulmarg (72).
