Srinagar: Last time Kashmiris hooked to their television sets was in 2005 when a local boy Qazi Touqeer made it to the finale of the reality show Fame Gurukul. It was an era of short-message-service, and every SMS counted for Touqeer, who ultimately became the winner of the show.
Thirteen years later, an 11-year-old singing sensation from Ladakh, Stanzin Edzes, is seeking blessings and votes for her success in TV reality show “Love Me India”.
Edzes, Class 6 student, needs online votes on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at 9 pm in ‘Battle Round’ to enter the next level of the show.
One just has to download the Love Me India App “ZEE5 Mobile Application” from Play Store and start voting.
Edzes, also known as Barbie, has received praises for her singing from the judges and audiences. Hailing from a singing family background, Edzes has received her early training from her parents. She is born to a Kashmiri Mother Pinna Ji and Ladakhi father Tsewang Dorjee – Rishab, both from the musical background and currently staying in Duggar land of Jammu.
Edzes sings in all the three major languages of the state viz Ladakhi, Dogri and Kashmiri and has already won hearts through various shows at Abhinav Theatre and other places.
The social media sites in Ladakh are abuzz garnering support for Edzes. Apart from many organizations and students, local literary and cultural clubs have also joined the fray to help Edzes. “My father (Tsewang Dorjee-Rishab) is my guide and mentors who is very strict during my ‘Riyaz’ but when I sing well, he is the one who appreciates me the most,” reports quoted Edzes as saying.
