Thousands of devotees Tuesday joined night-long prayers on the occasion of Urs of Hazrat Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani Gous-ul-Azam in the Kashmir valley braving cold weather conditions.

Although special night-long prayers were organised in shrines in the valley and Ladakh region, however, the main congregation was held in the shrine of Hazrat Gous-ul-Azam at Khanyar in the Shehr-e-Khaas, where thousands of devotees, including women and children, from different parts of the valley participated in the night-long prayers.

Special night long prayers were also organised in the shrine of Hazrat Gous at Sarai-e-Bala in the heart of the city, where large number of devotees participated.

Similar prayers were organised in shrines associated with the saint in the Kashmir valley and Ladakh region despite sub zero temperature.
