SRINAGAR: Police have arrested three persons, including a juvenile, and recovered stolen copper utensils in connection with a theft case registered at Police Station Pattan, officials said on Sunday.
The case was registered under FIR No. 186/2026 after copper utensils were allegedly stolen from the shop of Shakeel Ahmad Malik, a resident of Singhpura, at Hyderbeigh Market.
According to police, the theft took place during the intervening night of August 5 and 6, when unidentified persons allegedly broke through the wall of the shop and fled with a quantity of copper utensils.
During the investigation, police followed technical and human leads and questioned several suspects. One of the suspects allegedly disclosed his involvement in the theft and named his accomplices, following which police recovered the stolen property.
Further investigation led to the apprehension of a juvenile and the arrest of two other accused persons identified as Showket Hussain Mir, son of Manzoor Ahmad Mir of Kakerpora, and Nazir Ahmad Dar, son of Assadullah Dar of Chainabal.
Police said the juvenile is being dealt with under the applicable law.
With the arrests and recovery of the stolen property, police said the case has been worked out. Further investigation is underway.
