SRINAGAR: Police on Tuesday booked three men in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district under stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) for their alleged involvement in anti-national activities.

The men, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Mohammad Yaseen Bhat, and Wasid Ashraf Sofi, were charged under the strict Public Safety Act (PSA) after receiving official orders to detain them.

According to the PSA, a person can be held in custody for up to two years without a trial.

The three individuals were detained and then placed in different jails. Mohammad Ashraf Mir was sent to District Jail Udhampur, Mohammad Yaseen Bhat to Central Jail Kot-Bhalwal Jail Jammu, and Wasid Ashraf Sofi to District Jail Kathua.

The police stated that these individuals have been involved in multiple cases and have participated in activities that are against the nation’s interests. “Despite facing several police reports, they have not stopped engaging in activities that go against our country,” said a police spokesperson.
