“The individuals have been identified as Irfan Mohiuddin Dar, son of Gh. Mohiuddin Dar, resident of Sangrampora Sopore; Mohammad Asif Khan, son of Ab. Rehman Khan, resident of Harwan Bomai; and Gowhar Maqbool Rather, son of Mohammad Maqbool Rather, resident of Hardushiva,” a police spokesperson said in a statement.

Police said that despite multiple FIRs registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and previous preventive actions, the trio continued to maintain contact with terrorist handlers across the border through encrypted Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) platforms and Virtual Private Networks (VPNs).

“They were also allegedly involved in motivating local youth to engage in anti-national activities. After surveillance and preparation of detailed dossiers, detention orders were issued by the competent authority. All three individuals have been detained and shifted to Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu,” police added.
