SRINAGAR: A court in Srinagar has sentenced three accused to life imprisonment in a murder case registered at Police Station Batamaloo in 2022, police said on Saturday.
According to a police handout, the case was registered as FIR No. 109/2022 under Sections 498-A, 302, 120-B and 201 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
After the conclusion of the trial, the court of the Additional Sessions Judge, Srinagar, convicted Hafeeza Begum, Parveez Ahmad Dar alias Bilal, and Shahnawaz Ahmad Dar under Sections 302 and 120-B of the IPC and awarded them life imprisonment.
Police said the outcome followed an investigation and subsequent legal proceedings, adding that the conviction reflected efforts to ensure accountability through the judicial process.
Srinagar Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order and pursuing cases to secure justice for victims.
