The Jammu & Kashmir Institute of Mathematical Sciences (JKIMS) organized a three-day workshop on “Teaching and Learning Mathematics at School Level”, in collaboration with School Education Department, Kashmir.

The workshop was conducted at the main campus of JKIMS Amar Singh College, Srinagar.

As many as 150 school teachers from various districts of the state participated in the workshop and got hands on experience on some of the novel and innovative techniques of teaching and learning mathematics from the resource persons, an official statement said Thursday evening.

Dr Seemin Rubab, Associate Professor Physics, NIT, Srinagar; Prof Tariq Ahmad Chalkoo, Associate Professor, Physics, GDC Boys Baramulla; Prof Asiya Siddiqi Nodal Officer, JKIMS, Srinagar; Prof Saleem Mir (Assistant Professor, Computer Applications, JKIMS, Srinagar participated as resource persons.

The participating teachers pledged the supervising body to conduct such workshops regularly in the future.

The Innovative Cell thanked the Nodal officer JKIMS and the coordinator of the workshop, for “conducting the workshop flawlessly”.
