SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir police in North Kashmir’s Sopore have booked three chronic narcotics offenders under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT NDPS). The individuals had been repeatedly involved in drug peddling despite multiple FIRs and arrests, posing a threat to public health and safety.
“The three offenders — Bilal Ahmad Lone, son of Abdul Rashid Lone, resident of Lorihama Rafiabad; Jameel Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar, resident of Saripara Rafiabad; and Mohammad Altaf Dar, son of Ghulam Qadir Dar, resident of Mumkakh Batpora Sopore — had developed a consistent pattern of narcotics trafficking and continued their activities despite repeated legal action,” police said.
Following the preparation of detailed dossiers and confirmation by the competent authority, all three have been detained under the provisions of the PIT NDPS Act to prevent further harm to society.
