SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested three persons at Sadhna top in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district and recovered 10 kg brown sugar, arms and ammunition from their possession.

A police spokesman in a statement said, “Based on a credible input a joint naka  of Kupwara police and Army was laid at Sadhna Pass at the mouth of Tangdhar area of district Kupwara and busted a module of “Narco-terrorism.”

He said that during the operation two vehicles, Bolero bearing registration number JK01AJ-0219 and Santro bearing registration number JK05B-5471 were intercepted.

“Army Dogs were pressed into services who facilitated to locate the concealed and hidden packages from the said vehicles,” said the spokesman.

He said that arms and ammunition including 01 AK 56, a magazine, 02 Pistols with two magazines, 20 Grenades and other incriminating materials were recovered from the said vehicles.

Huge quantity of narcotics approximately 10 kgs was also recovered, he added.

“In this connection, three persons were arrested who were shifted to Police Station for further investigation,” said the spokesman.

He said that besides, two vehicles used in the commission of the crime have also been seized.

“In this connection, police have registered a case and initiated a further investigation into the matter,” said the spokesman.
