Three Injured, Two Houses Damaged in Srinagar Fire

   

SRINAGAR: A fire broke out this afternoon in the densely populated Guru Bazar area of Srinagar, resulting in the destruction of two residential houses, partial damage to a third, and injuries to three individuals.

The fire was reported at approximately 4:17 PM and spread rapidly through the multi-storey structures before fire and emergency services brought it under control.

According to officials, a four-storey residential house owned by Rashid Mahmood, son of the late Ali Mohammad Najar, was completely gutted. An adjoining house, jointly owned by Mohammad Shafi Dar and Feroz Ahmed Dar, sons of Ghulam Rasool Dar, was also fully destroyed.

A third house, belonging to Mohammad Yousuf Jan, son of the late Mohammad Maqbool Jan, suffered partial damage due to the intensity of the flames.

“Three individuals sustained injuries during the incident. They have been identified as Manzoor Ahmed Dajoo, Suhaib Shafi, and Riyaz Ahmed Sofi. All were taken to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Their condition is reported to be stable,” officials said.

Fire and emergency teams, assisted by Police, CRPF, and local residents, worked for several hours to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby structures. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and is under investigation.

Authorities have begun assessing the damage and have assured necessary support and relief to the affected families. (NewsEye)
