All the three militants have been killed and the encounter which started Monday afternoon ended in Handwara area of north Kashmir, Police told Kashmir Life on Tuesday.
After a tipoff, the personnel of SOG, 21 and 30 RR cordoned off the area in Haremohalla, Rajpoura in Handwara resulting in the encounter.
Sources said that more than two army men also received injuries in the gun battle which lasted for round about fifteen hours.
“All the three militants were killed and the Handwara encounter is over,” police spokesman said.
Sources said that arms and ammunition has been recovered from the encounter site yet the search operation was still on when the reports last came in.
