SRINAGAR: In a heart-wrenching tragedy, three minor children drowned in a pit in a Beerwah village. Though the locals took them out and drove them to the hospital, the doctors declared the three as brought dead.
Details revealed that the three belong to Narwora village in Beerwah.
They were identified as Sabzar Ahmad Dar, almost four years old, son of Riyaz Ahmad Dar; Arsheman Bashir son of Bashir Ahmad Mir of around three years of age and Dua Jan daughter of Ashiq Ahmad Dar, also of around four years of age.
The villagers rescued them from the pit and rushed to SDH Beerwah. The doctors did their best to revive them but neither of the three could be resuscitated.
Residents said it was a 4-ft deep pit. One body was found in the pit and two in the nearby drain.
Though the police and health officials have confirmed the tragedy, the full details are yet to emerge. One report said they were playing and fell in the pit. Another report said it was spring but was not immediately confirmed. Police have registered a case and started investigations. Official sources said it was a trench concerted with. drain.
