SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday booked three religious school teachers under stringent public safety act (PSA) after the fact about some of its students and teachers involved in militant activities came to fore.

A police official told news agency KDC that the teachers booked under PSA include Mohammad Yousuf Wani, Abdul Ahad Bhat and Abdul Rouf Bhat.

Meanwhile, confirming the arrest of three teachers IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said in a press conference here in Srinagar that the school mentioned namely Sirajul Aloom located in Imam Sahib, Shopian in South Kashmir is affiliated with the banned Jamaat-e-Islami outfit.

He said that the school was under the observation and the trio has been arrested for their involvement in subversive activities.

IGP Kashmir said that another five to six school teachers are under surveillance and their conduct regarding their involvement in unlawful activities is being investigated

Pertinently Sirajul Aloom School, came under the surveillance of intelligence agencies after thirteen of its students joined militant ranks, said the police official.
