Bollywood superstar, Salman Khan, who was shooting in Kashmir for his film ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’, was convicted in 2002 hit-and-run case on Wednesday.
He returned to Mumbai on Monday for the verdict.
Bombay Sessions Court concludes that Salman was driving the car under the influence of alcohol. “All charges against you are proved,” says Judge DW Deshpande.
Though quantum of punishment is yet to be announced, but is said that the star can be jailed for at least 6 months and get maximum 10-year jail.
Salman Khan reportedly broke down inside court where his family was present.
The star was charged with killing one person and injuring four by ramming his SUV into a bakery shop in Bandra 13 years ago.
Last night, at Salman’s home in Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, his family members were offering prayers.
Shah Rukh Khan, with whom Salman sorted out differences at his sister’s marriage Arpita Khan’s wedding, also paid him a visit.
His two upcoming films, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ which stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ opposite Sonam Kapoor, are currently in the last schedule of shooting.
After Sanjay Dutt, Salman is the second big star from Hindi film industry to get embroiled in a high-profile criminal case in recent years.
