SRINAGAR
A delegation of various villages around Pathribal, under the leadership of Peerzada Mansoor Hussain, MLA for Shangas, called on Mr. N.N. Vohra, Governor of J&K today, and appealed him to intervene for securing justice to the families of the Pathribal encounter victims, the incident which took place in the year 2000.
Hussain and the Sarpanches and others in the delegation apprised the Governor about the serious grievance of the people about Army’s decision to close the case, as reported in the media. They petitioned that justice must be done in this case. The Governor observed that he had already spoken in the matter with the concerned authorities and would follow-up with both the State and Central Government.
Navin K. Choudhary, Principal Secretary to the Governor was present during the meeting.
