Police on Monday claimed to have arrested a militant during naka checking in northern Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

Reports said that a joint of army’s 13 RR and police laid a Naka in Ajas area of the district following specific inputs about militants movement.

The militant has identified as Sarfaraz Ahmed Sheer, son of Muhammad Yousuf, a resident of Quil Muqam village in Bandipora district.

An official said that they have arrested the militant during the Naka and have recovered arms and ammunition as well.

He said the arrested militant was as category ‘A’ militant and was active from last four years since October 2014.
