SRINAGAR: A 55-year-old tourist from Odisha sustained serious injuries after a heavy stone rolled down a hillside and struck an Innova vehicle on the KP Road at Bumzoo Mattan in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday, reports said.
The incident occurred near Bumzoo Shrine when the stone suddenly came down from the hillside and hit the vehicle, bearing registration number JK01AT-8081.
The Innova, driven by Arif Dilawar Khan of Pattan, Baramulla, was carrying six tourists travelling from Pahalgam towards Anantnag at the time of the incident.
The injured tourist was identified as R. Himansu Prasad Rao, a resident of Ganjam, Odisha. He was evacuated to Government Medical College (GMC), Anantnag, for treatment.
