SRINAGAR

As Chief Minister Omar Abdullah reiterated  his party’s stand in New Delhi,  senior National Conference leader and State’s finance minister Abdul Rahim Rather had face tough situation in valley. Boo

According to reports during a function of launch of ‘Jammu and Kashmir Special Credit-cum-Relief Camps’  by MoS in Prime Minsiter’s office Dr Jitendra Singh in Srinagar,   Rather was booed by Kashmiri flood-hit traders for shoddy relief and rescue work of state government .

Traders accused that  Omar Abdullah led coalition government failed its people when floods ravaged the city. The traders demanded probe against Omar Abdullah for what he and his government did in floods.

Eye witnesses told Kashmir Life that  Omar’s finance minister had difficult situation to handle as ‘it was’made tough for him even to speak’. At same same time they said that Dr Singh was applauded as he briefed audience about the benefits of the scheme launched.

According to reports, Dr Singh assured the agitated traders that there would be proper investigation into the flood rescue and relief operations. But that didn’t pacify the traders as they held more protests against the state government.

Pertinent to mention that NC is the only political party in State opposing polls later this year. Highly placed sources told Kashmir Life that NC  is apprehensive that they may have to bear the brunt of “failure of the government, which other parties may cash in”
