Traders in Lal Chowk Wednesday staged a sit in near Ghanta Ghar to press for their demands including international aid for their rehabilitation.

Scores of traders under the banner ‘Traders Association Lal Chowk’ held a sit in and started shouting slogans against what they called apathy of the government towards flood victims especially traders and businessmen.

The protesting traders erected a tent for their sit in forcing traffic to use alternative routes.

Traders and businessmen are demanding exemption in Income and Sales Taxes and an international aid for their rehabilitation.

Pertinently the trader’s representatives had many meetings with the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and they met the Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well when the later was in Srinagar on Diwali day.
