Srinagar

Traffic was restored on the 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu highway, connecting Kashmir valley with the rest of the world, after remaining suspended for several hours due to landslides on Thursday night.

Meanwhile, traffic on the Srinagar-Leh national highway was delayed on Friday due to slippery road conditions following fresh snowfall between Sonmarg and Zojila, a traffic police official said.

Decision to allow traffic on 86-km-long historic Mughal road, linking Shopian in south Kashmir with Rajouri and Poonch in Jammu region, will be taken later as the road remained slippery in the morning and evening hours due to below freezing temperature, he said.
