Due to certain ‘bottlenecks and poor condition of the road’, Mughal road will remain operational only for one way traffic for LMVs due to certain. This was stated by Inspector General of Police, Traffic.

According to IGP, in order to facilitate the commuters intending to travel between Poonch and Shopian, one way traffic schedule has been worked out. Under this system the traffic will be allowed only one way, from Jammu to Srinagar and vice versa on alternate days.

IGP further said that on 16th, 19th, 21st, 24th, 26th, 28th and 31st May the traffic will ply from Srinagar to Jammu via Mughal Road while as on 18th, 20th, 22nd, 25th, 27th and 30th May the traffic will ply from Jammu to Srinagar.

Meanwhile, 17th and 18th May have been kept as reserved days for maintenance of the road.

The decision has been taken to ensure safety and security of passengers and for hassle free movement of the traffic on the road.
