The Baramulla-Banihal rail link was put on halt on Nowgam station for about 45 minutes on Friday morning by some protesting ladies. They were protesting against the new schedule of train, which was changed after the inauguration of Qazigund- Banihal rail link.

Train officials told Kashmir Life over phone, “Train was stopped for 45 minutes by some 20-25 working ladies and they were asking to change the train schedule. Most of them were teachers, posted in Islamabad district and they were saying that due to changed timings of train they will be late for their classes.”

Since the inauguration of Baramulla- Qazigund rail link, many people preferred to travel by train as they feel it saves their time and is convenient.
