Train services in Kashmir have been resumed on Friday after remaining suspended on Thursday for security reasons, a senior railway official said.

A senior railway official told Kashmir Life that train service was resumed this morning in the valley.

A fresh advisory was received from the police to resume the train service after remaining suspended on Thursday in view of the election in Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency. Therefore, he said, trains will run as per schedule on Budgam-Srinagar-Islamabad-Qazigund in south Kashmir and Banihal in Jammu region today.

Similarly, trains will also chug on Srinagar-Budgam and Baramulla in north Kashmir, he added.
