Train services in Kashmir have been resumed on Wednesday after remaining suspended on Tuesday for security reasons, a senior railway official said.

A senior railway official told Kashmir Life that train service was resumed this morning in the valley.

A fresh advisory was received from the police to resume the train service after remaining suspended on Tuesday in view of the election in Anantnag district and in view of shutdown call by Joint resistance leadership against the detention of JKLF Chief Yasin Malik.

Therefore, he said, trains will run as per schedule on Budgam-Srinagar-Islamabad-Qazigund in south Kashmir and Banihal in Jammu region today.

Similarly, trains will also chug on Srinagar-Budgam and Baramulla in north Kashmir, he added.
