Train service was resumed on Wednesday after remaining suspended on Tuesday for security reasons for a day in south Kashmir,where situation was tense after killing of a youth in army firing  in Kulgam on Monday evening .

We have resumed the train service on all routes in the Kashmir valley today, a senior railway official said.

He said train will chug as per schedule on Budgam-Srinagar-Islamabad-Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region. Similarly, trains will also run on Srinagar-Budgam in central Kashmir to Baramulla in the north, he said.

This was the fifth time in June train service was suspended in the valley fully or partially for security reasons.

Last month train service was suspended 14 times in the valley and in last year train service was suspended for over 50 times in the valley for security reasons.
