Train services has been suspended for “security reasons” in the Kashmir valley following the killing of a civilian, militant. while as another gunfight that raged on today early morning in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

“We have suspended train service in the Kashmir valley following a fresh directive from police,” a senior railway official told Kashmir Life.

Therefore, he said, no train will chug on Srinagar-Budgam in central Kashmir to Baramulla in the north.

Similarly, all trains will remain suspended on Srinagar-Islamabad-Qazigund in south Kashmir with Banihal in Jammu, he added.

The decision to suspend the train service was taken on the advice of local authorities and police in view of apprehension of violence.
