In view of the strike call against the killing of militants, civilian in government force action on protesting youth near an encounter site at Chattabal area of central Kashmir’s Srinagar district, the authorities have the suspended train services across Kashmir.

“We have again suspended train service in the Kashmir valley following a fresh directive from police,” a senior railway official told Kashmir Life.

Therefore, he said, all trains run between Budgam-Srinagar-Islamabad-Qazigund in south Kashmir and Banihal in Jammu region.

Similarly, trains will not chug on Srinagar-Budgam and Baramulla in north Kashmir, he added.

Last month the train service was suspended for nine times fully or partially for security reasons.

Last year train service remained suspended for 50 times partially or fully in the valley.
