Srinagar
Train services have been suspended on Monday for “security reasons” in the Kashmir valley, where a shutdown is being observed on the call of resistance leadership against braid chopping incidents.
“We have suspended all train runs in the valley for security reasons following advisory from police,” a senior railway official said.
He said all trains between Srinagar-Budgam in central Kashmir to Baramulla in northern Kashmir have been suspended.
Therefore, train will also not chug on Srinagar-Islamabad-Qazigund in southern Kashmir to Banihal in Jammu region.
