A suspected militant was killed in Buchoo village of Tral Tehsil in an ongoing gunfight between militants and forces. Earlier on Friday morning militants had killed three army men when they were busy cordoning the village.
“Three soldiers of the Rashtriya Rifles and a militant were killed in a gun-battle in Tral area,” police spokesman told Kashmir Life adding that the gunfight was still continuing.
Rashtriya Rifles troopers were Friday morning laying a cordon around Bachoo village of Tral tehsil in Pulwama district when militants opened fire on them killing three army men on spot, spokesperson for the army in Srinagar,Lt Col Ankur Vasisht said.
Later forces returned the fire in which a suspected militant was killed.
“A militant, identified of Hizbul Mujahideen outfit, is believed to have been killed. But we are yet to recover his body as the gunfight is still on. One more soldier has sustained injuries in the gunfight,” an army official added.
