Three top Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) militants were killed and a CRPF officer and four army men were injured in a gunfight at Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday.
Official sources identified the slain militants as Adil Ahmad of Midoora, Danish Ahmad from Pinglish Tral and a foreigner. Danish has joined militancy barely 23 days back and Adil has joined militancy barely 24 hours before.
Earlier a joint team of army, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation at Hayuna village of Tral following specific information about the presence of some militants.
As the joint team of forces fired some warning shots, the militants hiding inside the village opened fire which resulted into an encounter, sources said.
Following the encounter, clashes Had also erupted near the encounter site.
