South Kashmir’s Tral and its adjoining areas observed complete shutdown for the third consecutive day on Monday to mourn the death of a non-local militant Adil Pathan, who was killed during a gunfight with government forces at Aripal on Saturday.

All the business establishments and shops were closed and traffic remained off the roads.

Large contingent of police and Para-military troopers had been deployed to thwart any kind of possible protest. Pertinently, agitated protestors had torched two police vehicles soon after the killing of the militant in Aripal area, after which police had resorted to intense aerial firing. (CNS)
