Directorate of Distance Education University of Kashmir has proven source of nuisance for hundreds of students pursuing B.ed courses through distance mode.

“You can’t imagine how much mentally disturbed we are. I am an Arts student and the University authorities have directed me to appear in mathematics in the examination that is going started on Wednesday July 9,” a student Shaista Amin told CNS adding that Directorate of Distance Education are playing with the careers of the students.

Students said that the information they downloaded from the Website of the Directorate is so confusing that they are feeling restless. “Those who are supposed to appear in History and Civics subjects have been directed to appear in Chemistry and vice versa. Similarly some students who are supposed to appear in Psychology have been told to appear in Mathematics,” they said adding that irony is that the authorities are unwilling to address the problems of the students.

“How can you expect from me to appear in a subject which I have never studied. The irony is that one of the University official told students to appear in those subjects mentioned in the date sheet. This is ridiculous,” Ajaz Ahmed said.

When contacted Director Distance Education Kashmir University Professor Shabir Ahmed said they have taken care of this ‘blunder’ and will surely come up with a new notification in this regard.
