SRINAGAR,: A man died after falling from a hillside while cutting a tree in the Upper Mohura area of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday.
Officials told GNS that Aziz Tantray, son of Subhan Tantray and a resident of Upper Mohura, was cutting a tree when he fell down the hillside and sustained fatal injuries. He died on the spot.
Soon after the incident, a police party from Police Station Uri reached the spot and launched a rescue and recovery operation.
A senior police officer said the body had fallen a considerable distance down the hillside into a nalla, making its recovery difficult.
“With the help of a drone, we located the body. It is difficult to recover it from the nalla, so we have called the SDRF for the task,” the officer said.
The recovery operation was underway when reports last came in. (GNS)
