SRINAGAR
An earth quake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale rocked Kashmir valley in the during the night.
According to a Met department spokesman, tremors were felt at 1:16 am during the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.
People rushed out of their homes in panic and took shelter in open spaces.
He said the tremor was epicentred at Kashmir China border.
There were no reports of any loss of life or damage to property.
