Kupwara police arrested two smugglers and recovered two bags of Tripatri (Forest produce) in Kupwara, a statement said on Friday.
During night hours, Kupwara police intercepted a Sumo bearing registration number JK09-6970 at Lalpora in Lalpora, Kupwara. During the search of the vehicle police recovered two bags of Forest produce (TRIPATRI).
Two persons Khursheed Ahmad Khan son of Hyder Khan and Parvaiz Ahmad Mir son of Nazir Ahamd Mir residents of Kakarpati Devsar travelling in the vehicle were arrested.
Police have registered a case FIR number 34/14 under section 379,109 RPC 6 Forest Act in this regard.
