SRINAGAR: US President Donald Trump arrived in Beijing on Wednesday evening for a three-day state visit to China, marking the first visit by a sitting US president to the country in nearly nine years, BBC reported.

Trump is visiting China from May 13 to 15 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping. The visit is also Trump’s second trip to China since his previous visit in November 2017.
According to China’s foreign ministry, the two leaders are expected to hold extensive discussions on bilateral ties as well as key international and regional issues concerning global peace and development.
The visit comes amid heightened geopolitical tensions and growing global focus on US-China relations, particularly over trade, security and regional stability.
Officials said the meetings between Trump and Xi are aimed at strengthening communication between the two countries and addressing major strategic concerns affecting the international community.
