SRINAGAR: US President Donald Trump has said American forces are close to achieving their core strategic objectives in Iran and asserted that the United States will “finish the job soon.”

In a televised address from the White House, Trump highlighted what he described as major successes of the ongoing US military campaign, referred to as Operation Epic Fury, claiming that the United States is “winning bigger than ever before.”
During his nearly 20-minute speech, the President said that Americans could look forward to a future free from what he termed “Iranian aggression” and the threat of nuclear coercion. He maintained that the campaign aims to eliminate long-standing security concerns linked to Iran.
Trump also said that once the conflict concludes, the United States would emerge “safer, stronger, more prosperous and greater than ever before.”
Addressing global partners, he called on US allies to take greater responsibility in securing maritime routes, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil transit point. He suggested that while the passage remains strategically important, the United States itself is less dependent on it.
The remarks come amid escalating tensions in the Middle East and continued international concern over regional stability, energy security and the potential for wider conflict.
