SRINAGAR: US President Donald Trump on Friday warned China and Russia against supplying weapons to Iran, saying such a move would not be in their interests and would have serious consequences.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said he believed assurances from Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin that neither country was currently providing weapons to Iran.
“Therefore, two major countries that people speak of often in terms of Iran are, in my opinion, not participating,” Trump wrote.
He added: “If they did, it would be very bad for them — certainly not in their best interests.”
Trump did not provide further details or evidence to support his remarks. His comments came amid continued international attention on Iran’s military capabilities and its ties with China and Russia.
