Police has called at least seven persons for questioning in relation with the murder of two children of Masjid Noor Imam, Iftikar Ahmed Lone.

Pertinently, two minor children of a Imam Hashim (2) and Aaliya (3) were killed by slitting their throat and his wife was found critically injured inside their residence on Wednesday.

A top police official told CNS on condition of anonymity that at least seven persons have been questioned so far and hopefully within a week’s time, the culprit would get exposed. “Formally we have not arrested anyone. We are calling people for questioning and this has so far enabled us to pick up the thread,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Intizamia committee Masjid Noor Iqbalabad Bemina expressed profound grief and sorrow over the murder of minor children of Iftikhar Ahmad Lone. The committee appreciated the role of Police for timely action. “The moment we informed the Police, the concerned SHO Batamaloo, SDPO Shaheed Ganj along with their team reached here. They immediately swung into action and took stock of the situation,” it said.

They expected the Police to crack the case in short span of time.
