SRINAGAR: Two individuals, including a juvenile, were apprehended for allegedly stealing a 12-bore firearm from a local in Doda district of Jammu Kashmir, police said on Saturday, according to Daily Excelsior report.
A case regarding the theft was registered at Gandoh Police Station on Wednesday. During the investigation, Mahafuz Ahmed of Soti Dudwar village was taken into custody, leading to the recovery of the stolen weapon, police added.
The juvenile involved has been produced before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) and sent to a remand home for 30 days. Authorities said further investigation is ongoing to determine the motive behind the theft.
Police also urged the public to report any suspicious activity in the area for prompt action.
